Abstrakty

Celem pracy jest zbadanie głębokości ubóstwa gospodarstw domowych, które w latach 2001-2003 skorzystały z pomocy społecznej w rodzinie. Dotkliwość ubóstwa nie musi być taka sama w różnych typach gospodarstw domowych - inna jest tam, gdzie głową rodziny jest mężczyzna, a inna w gospodarstwach "zarządzanych" przez kobietę. Dokonano analizy głębokości ubóstwa gospodarstw domowych również według wieku, wykształcenia oraz stanu zdrowia głowy gospodarstwa, liczby osób w gospodarstwie, liczby osób czynnych zawodowo, głównego źródła dochodu i częstotliwości kontaktów z rodziną. One of the measures describing the zone of poverty is the indicator of the depth of poverty. It informs how "far" on average, are the poor people from the line of poverty. In other words this indicator shows their distance from this line. Expressed in percentages, it gives information on the minimum sum of money (related to the value of the line of poverty) which should be given to each individual from the zone of poverty so that he/she could leave it. The analysis included 6336 households in Poznań which in the years 2001 -2003 received social assistance. They were located in 5 districts of Poznań and according to this criterion the population was divided. Indicators of poverty were calculated for each district in total and also according to such features as: - gender of the head of the household, - his/her age, - education of the head of the household. - number of people in the household, - number of professionally active people in the household, - main source of income, - health condition of the head of the household, - contacts with family. The analysis showed that the depth of poverty in Poznań exceeded 50% (amounting precisely to 52.51%)This means that each household from the zone of poverty should be given on average 52.51% of the mean value of the line of poverty so that it could leave this zone. Obviously, the worst situation was in the households without any source of income and one-person households. The best situation was observed in the households where at least 2 persons were professionally active and in those households where the main source of income was the old-age pension.
