Abstrakty

Artykuł zawiera porównanie zmian zachodzących we wschodnich obszarach Polski i Niemiec na przestrzeni ostatnich lat. Podjęto w nim próbę wskazania najważniejszych problemów tych obszarów i ich wpływu na procesy rozwoju gospodarczego. Trajektorie rozwojowe wschodnich regionów Polski i Niemiec zostały przedstawione w kontekście procesów zjednoczenia i transformacji, z odniesieniem do polityki prowadzonej przez władze publiczne. We wnioskach sformułowano ocenę istotności i skali problemów dotykających wschodnich obszarów Polski i Niemiec, w tym próbę oceny skuteczności polityki regionalnej. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The paper offers a comparison of changes which have been taking place in the eastern regions of Poland and Germany in the recent years. It sets out to identify the main problems of these areas and explain how they have affected economic development processes. The development trajectories of the eastern regions of Poland and Germany are discussed in the context of the reunification and transformation processes, and are related to the policies implemented by the public authorities. In its conclusions, the study evaluates the relevance and scale of the problems affecting the eastern parts of Germany and Poland, among them the effectiveness of their regional policies.
