EN
This paper presents the theoretical model of new economic geography. The presentation throws light upon changes introduced by Krugman, who gave new shape to this discipline. First, Krugman's attitude to various traditions formed previously in economic geography is clarified, next, the assumption of his model of the discipline and finally the model itself is specified. In spite of the author's effort to make presentation in plain terms, he could not avoid intricacies connected with the complexity of the subject- matter of this discipline. The author made a move facilitating the perception of the contents of the paper. He separated the mathematical formula from the verbal part. This made the text more transparent. The text includes general characteristics of the model, dynamics of the economy, and the conditions of economic equilibrium. In the second part of the paper, the problem of evolution in the long-term and the formation of multicenter system are discussed. The author is not uncritical towards the new structure of the discipline. At the end of the paper he asks several questions which arise when one studies carefully the works published by Paul Krugman.
