Years 2008-2009 turned out to be a difficult test and experience for the global market. Its consequences are perceptible up until now. The impact of the economic crisis has been reflected in the GDP decrease of the majority of EU countries since 3rd quarter 2008,which resulted in growing unemployment rates. The crisis affected basic labour market parameters negatively especially in Latvia, Lithuania,Estonia, Spain and Ireland. In 2010 most of the countries recorded a positive GDP growth nevertheless the preponderating part had a higher annual average unemployment rate in comparison to the previous year. The only exception is Germany where labour market parameters improved after crisis. (original abstract)
