This article presents the latent trait models. It describes how to use the Rasch model to estimate student's ability and item difficulty. The author defines the problem and describes how to build such model. The main method which was used to find the parameter estimators is the maximum likelihood method. Next, the author ilustrates how to use this model when we have some data. Finally, the author focuses on graphic method of verification of that model. (original abstract)
