Abstrakty

W artykule dokonano charakterystyki sytuacji gospodarczej państw transformujących się i analizy porównawczej makroekonomicznych skutków przeprowadzonej w nich transformacji gospodarczej. Artykuł składa się z następujących części: (1) krytycznego przeglądu literatury dotyczącej głównych determinant wzrostu gospodarczego w państwach transformujących się; (2) ogólnej charakterystyki analizowanej grupy 25 państw, z podziałem ich na trzy grupy ze względu na tempo i zakres przeprowadzania transformacji; (3) analizy programów stabilizacji makroekonomicznej; (4) analizy liberalizacji i prywatyzacji i (5) analizy jakości instytucji państwa. Analizą objęto 25 państw, które podzielono na trzy grupy ze względu na tempo i zakres przeprowadzania transformacji. Ustalono, że najkorzystniejsze zmiany pod względem stabilizacji gospodarki, reform gospodarczych i jakości instytucji państwa osiągnęły kraje Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej. Wpływ na to miała zarówno konsekwencja we wprowadzaniu strategii transformacji gospodarczej, jak i proces integracji z UE. (abstrakt oryginalny)

The authors examine the economic situation of countries undergoing transformation and analyze macroeconomic consequences of economic transition. The article begins with a literature review concerning determinants of economic growth and recovery from transitional recession in the post-socialist countries. Data on macroeconomic stabilization, market reforms and institutional changes in 25 economies under transformation are presented. The results show that the biggest improvement in macroeconomic stabilization, market reforms and institutions was achieved in Central-East European countries. This was possible due to consistency in implementing the market economy and integration with the European Union. (original abstract)
