Abstrakty

Zwrócono uwagę na obserwowany we współczesnych relacjach handlowych na świecie proces powstawania regionalnych porozumień handlowych. Porozumienia takie, chociaż mają charakter dyskryminacyjny, powstają na mocy regulacji GATT/WTO, której podstawą działania jest klauzula najwyższego uprzywilejowania. Przedstawiono podstawy prawne powstawania regionalnych porozumień handlowych oraz wybrane cechy charakteryzujące proces ich rozwoju. Zwrócono również uwagę na relacje pomiędzy tworzeniem regionalnych porozumień handlowych a celem WTO, którym jest liberalizacja światowego handlu. (abstrakt oryginalny)

A prominent feature of the contemporary multilateral trading system is proliferation of regional trade agreements. Such agreements increase discrimination of third countries although those agreements are notified to the GATT/WTO which is focused on promotion of free world trade. The paper state sets of rules under which the WTO members can enter into regional integration arrangements. The main trends and characteristics of regional trade agreements are also presented. The last part of this paper is focused on the relations between regional trade agreements and the multilateral system. (original abstract)
