The article discusses the role of urban resilience and urban economic resilience in urban transition processes. It explores different meanings of the notions including resilience, urban resilience and urban economic resilience. It adds that the urban resilience concept helps in understanding how a city should develop to cope with external and internal changes. (original abstract)
