The article provides information on demographic transition which discusses the phenomenon of ageing process in European countries especially in Germany and Poland. It mentions that industrialized countries experience much farther and accelerated stage in the process of demographic transition than developing countries. It informs that population in Germany with age of more than 50 years rise from 37 percent in the year 2005 will reach to nearly 50 percent in the year 2035. (original abstract)
