Abstrakty

Artykuł poświęcono analizie związków zachodzących pomiędzy poziomem i tempem rozwoju telekomunikacji a wzrostem gospodarczym i nierównościami dochodu. Część pierwsza odpowiada na pytanie: czy rozwój telekomunikacji jest czynnikiem pobudzającym wzrost gospodarczy, czy to wzrost gospodarczy jest przyczyną rozwoju telekomunikacji? Część druga zawiera analizę wpływu telekomunikacji na nierówności. Dotychczasowe badania empiryczne potwierdzają przewidywania teoretyczne co do korzystnego wpływu telekomunikacji na wzrost gospodarczy i nierówności. Z punktu widzenia polityki gospodarczej wyniki te oznaczają, że działania zmierzające do rozwoju telekomunikacji pobudzają wzrost gospodarczy, a przy spełnieniu pewnych warunków mogą też prowadzić do zmniejszania nierówności. In this paper relationships between telecommuniactions, economic growth and income inequalities are investigated. First part presents analysis of the effects of telecommunications development on economic growth. In the second part the distributive impact of telecommunications provision is discussed. We find that telecommunications positively influences both economic growth and income inequalities. In conclusion some implications for growth and income policies are offered. (original abstract)
