Abstrakty

This paper deals with the nature and rationale of nonprofits. It criticizes the approach of main- stream economics, which envisions nonprofits as a more or less close substitutive for the public sector. It elaborates on a well-known topic of economic literature - the lighthouse - to construe an analogue for non-profits organizations in order to comprehend a whole field of economic activities, that is, activities that are sustained through contributions rather than prices. Praca ta poświęcona jest naturze i filozofii organizacji non profit. Krytykuje podejście ekonomii jako głównego nurtu , który traktuje te organizacje jako mniej lub bardziej zbliżone dla sektora publicznego. Problem ten dobrze został przedstawiony w literaturze ekonomicznej i wyjaśnia analogie dla organizacji non profit, co pozwala zrozumieć całą dziedzinę działalności gospodarczej.
