Efekt dyspozycji polega na skłonności inwestorów do zbyt szybkiego sprzedawania akcji, których ceny zwyżkują, oraz do zbyt długiego przetrzymywania akcji zniżkujących. Artykuł objaśnia efekt dyspozycji w oparciu o teorię perspektywy Kahnemana i Tversky'ego. Zamiast klasycznego przedstawienia efektu dyspozycji w funkcji czasu, przeprowadzono analizę prawdopodobieństw przypisywanych przez inwestorów oczekiwanym zyskom (stratom), a następnie wyznaczono wartości graniczne tych prawdopodobieństw powyżej, których efekt dyspozycji nie występuje.
