Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest uporządkowanie najważniejszych argumentów za i przeciw monopolowi państwa w sferze pieniężnej. Ze względu na rozmiar opracowania, ma ono charakter wysoce syntetyczny. Dla uporządkowania rozważań, w następnym punkcie przedstawiono definicje systemu pieniężnego i wyszczególniono jego elementy. Następnie, przybliżono uzasadnienie na rzecz kształtowania tych elementów przez państwo, a także poglądy odmienne uzasadnienia. (fragment tekstu)

One of the most important issues in current discussion on roots and consequences of the global financial crisis is organization and functioning of monetary regimes. Typical to contemporary economics is such a regime in which money is legal tender, state-owned central bank controls creation and circulation of money, and commercial banks are strictly regulated by law. This state monopoly in the monetary area is, however, challenged. The aim of the paper is to bring closer the most common arguments in favor of this monopoly, as well as those against it.
