Abstrakty

Autorka przeprowadziła badania dotyczące wpływu bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych (BIZ) na małe i średnie firmy w Polsce i w Hiszpanii. Jest to problem o tyle złożony, że w zależności od poziomu przygotowania przedsiębiorstw lokalnych do funkcjonowania w otoczeniu firm zagranicznych, będących nośnikiem globalizacji, zależy stopień wykorzystania przez małe i średnie firmy faktu obecności podmiotów zagranicznych. Złożona natura BIZ nie pozwala jednoznacznie ocenić ich wpływu na MSP - z jednej strony obecność inwestycji przyczynia się do podnoszenia jakości działania w firmach, z drugiej może stanowić przyczynę kontrowersyjnych bądź nawet niepożądanych dla firmy zjawisk. Enterprises from emerging and developing countries such as Poland are principally unable to take full advantage from the severe fight for the market with foreign companies. In order to survive, local enterprises have to meet technological demands, raise the quality and efficiency of work, spend financial resources on research on their products/services etc. Entrepreneurs faces new challenges in the field of management, especially in terms of crisis. Not fully developed market mechanisms as well as the lack of long term experience are factors that can strongly hinder the development of local subjects and even cause the crisis. The presence of foreign subjects can, but does not have to, result in the growth of competitiveness of local subjects or the improvement of indicators telling about the economic development and minimize the risk of crisis, as well. Therefore it is worth to compare the influence of FDI on Polish enterprises and enterprises from a better developed country. Doing the research in Spain will be especially purposeful, because this country has come through a similar way of development to the Polish one. The author means here the course of transformations and reforms, not omitting the role of industry and agriculture, as well as a high unemployment rate, which characterizes Spain's experience in this respect.
