The article contains the review of some problems of british privatization showed in the context of the main objectives of this process in United Kingdom. The author starts with the survey of different forms of british privatization. Then he stresses this set of its features which may be interesting on polish ground. The essential element of the article is presentation of the most important opinions of british economists on the relationship between ownership and efficiency. The next topic of the analysis is the financial aspect of privatization. In the final part author make some comments on the ideological and political conditions connected with privatization in british style. (original abstract)
