Abstrakty

Procesy internacjonalizacji walut jako alternatywy dla USD zyskują coraz większą uwagę i stają się przedmiotem coraz częstszych analiz, zarówno w dyskusjach akademickich, jak i oficjalnych forach współpracy międzynarodowej (G20, MFW, BIS). Utworzenie prawdziwego wielodewizo- wego systemu, opartego na kilku walutach międzynarodowych stanowi jeden z alternatywnych scenariuszy reformowania międzynarodowego systemu walutowego. Czynnikiem stymulującym proces reformowania jest wadliwość systemu opartego na jednej walucie, co destabilizuje międzynarodowe środowisko finansowe i podtrzymuje międzynarodową nierównowagę płatniczą. Wśród walut mogących odegrać istotną rolę międzynarodową coraz większe znaczenie zyskuje renminbi (RMB). Szczególnego znaczenia nabiera fakt, że władze chińskie są aktywne w internacjonalizowaniu własnej waluty i konsekwentnie podejmują działania w tym kierunku. Motorem tych działań są korzyści, jakie kraj może odnieść w wyniku międzynarodowego zastosowania własnej waluty. Celem artykułu jest analiza procesu internacjonalizacji RMB i próba odpowiedzi na pytanie, w jaki sposób proces ten wpływa i wpłynie w perspektywie długookresowej na gospodarkę chińską i globalną, w tym na międzynarodową nierównowagę płatniczą.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The internationalization processes of the currencies as an alternative to the USD are of great importance and are becoming deeply investigated, during academic discussions as well as at the official international meetings (G20, IMF, BIS). The evolution of the international monetary system towards a truly multipolar one, is among the scenarios of reforming the system. The driving force behind the reform is the lack of stability of the system based on one currency and its role in creating global imbalances. Among currencies being able to substitute the USD in the international monetary system, renminbi (RMB) is gaining more and more in importance. What is worth noting is that Chinese authorities are especially active in promoting the process of internationalization of the currency, due to benefits of the internationalization process for the country. The aim of the article is to analyze the process of the internationalisation of the RMB and to answer the question of its influence on the Chinese as well as the global economy.(original abstract)
