Omówiono pracę doktorską Tomasz Meringa poświęconą dialogowi społecznemu w Unii Europejskiej.
This paper seeks to present the issues and research methods used in the doctoral thesis: EU structural policy vs. social policy in Great Britain - interactions - the subject and methodology of a doctoral thesis. The author characterizes the factors which determined the choice of his doctorate's subject matter and structure, and outlines the main conclusions of his analysis. Also provided, is information on the use of the methods and research techniques employed, such as document analysis, participatory observation and detailed interviews. The paper points to the possibilities afforded by interviews as means of verifying and completing the research findings. This thesis testifies to the usefulness of the category of policy networks in research on community policies and demonstrates the possibility of employing the premises of multilevel governance in the analysis. The paper contains practical advice which can be useful for researchers writing doctorates on European integration. (original abstract)
