Abstrakty
Następnie prezentujemy symulacje wpływu szoku realnego na wzrost zmienności inflacji i produkcji, ilustrując w ten sposób spadek dobrobytu społecznego wywołany zjawiskiem wielości stanów równowagi. Extrinsic uncertainty, multiple equilibria and sunspot shocks have changed the standards of economic modelling. An equilibrium may exist even if a market is equilibrated by more than one price and more than one quantity. Real indeterminacy, however, is not a desired feature. In this paper we present the reason why authorities of any kind act in a way that ensures determinacy and uniqueness of equilibrium. We describe two groups of models explaining the origins and effects of the multiple equilibria. The first group consists of New Keynesian models dealing with the co-ordination failures, whilst the second one consists of monetary models. The latter is not necessarily of the New Keynesian descent. Next, we present the most important wealth-reducing effect of sunspot shocks, namely the increasing volatility. Due to the self-fulfilling expectations the variances of output and inflation increases, and so does the uncertainty. (original abstract)
