Development of the Internal Audit System in Public Sector in Latvia

Internal audit system of the public sector in Latvia has been established at the end of the 20th century in connection with the EU requirements and necessity to develop state administration mechanism. The decentralised internal audit model used in Latvia is similar to the practice in other EU states. The authors in the article analysis the data from internal audit services in 21 state administration institutions for the period of 2003. - 2007 allowed to identify the most typical but still unsolved problems. These problems are presented in the paper. (original abstract)

Audyt wewnętrzny sektora publicznego na Litwie został ustanowiony pod koniec XX wieku w związku z wymaganiami Unii Europejskiej oraz koniecznością rozwoju mechanizmów państwowej administracji. Zdecentralizowany model audytu wewnętrznego stosowany na Łotwie jest podobny do stosowanego w innych krajach Unii Europejskiej. Autorzy w artykule analizują informacje z audytu wewnętrznego przeprowadzonego w 21 państwowych instytucjach administracyjnych w przedziale czasu od 2003 do 2007. Analiza ta pozwala na zidentyfikowanie najbardziej charakterystycznych ale wciąż nierozwiązanych problemów. Problemy te są zaprezentowane w artykule.(abstrakt oryginalny)
