The article underlines that in the analysis of economic, social and cultural phenomena one can speak about the "social capital" as a phenomenon of the new economics. This concept frequently includes various distant spheres of social and economic reality. For example: P. Runia crams the sphere of social relations on the labour market into social capital Das sociale Kapital auf dem Arbeitsmarkt. Beziehungen in Stellensuche, treating these relations - "Beziehungen" as "vitamin B" which provokes negative associations of the existence and emergence of corruption. W. Matiaske, in turn, in his article " Soziales Kapital in Organisationen. Eine tauschtheore-tische Studies" indicates that a social organization takes advantage of the social capital of its actors because it assures a social network of the circulation of information, coordinating activities and making cooperation possible. Finally, Karl Vodrazka in his work "Kraftfahrzeuge und Sozialkapital. Steuerliche Belastung und optimale Gestaltungsmoglichkeiten nach dem 2 Abgabenanderungsgesetz 1997" states that even material goods, which include commercial vehicles, functioning under new tax burdens, also constitute the social capital. In conclusion it is stated that although social capital introduces new problems into economic sociology concerning e.g. interactions between partners, social relations between individuals or societies on the grounds of mutual confidence or material relations, these are rather subjective categories dealt with by psychologists. This is also confirmed by determinants specified by Wojciech Dyduch in his article " Social capital of organizations as food for entrepreneurship and inno-vativeness" , namely : a) participation in networks, b) mutuality , c) confidence, d) social norms (informal or unwritten), e) community, f) pro-activity (willingness to get involved). Each science can be developed above all on the grounds of appropriate terminology and have extensive methodology and theory. These principles cannot be found in considerations on the social capital. Thus it is a category useful for social practice. Despite this, introduction of new problems concerning social capital and efforts to systematize it can be a valuable material for the further development of economic sociology because the exchange of thoughts between an economic practitioner and a theoretician may reveal new problems and new approaches to the complex and changeable reality.
