The Problem of Family Ties in the Economy
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
If one considers organizations and families to be separate social entities, it is difficult to assume that they do not exert any influence on each other within the society. On the contrary, they should largely depend on each other. The approach which connects family related problems with economic growth is not too widely discussed in the literature although among the most important theoreticians we can find both classics - M.Weber, F. Znaniecki and contemporary thinkers -F. Fukuyama or R. Putman. Family values play a significant role in Poland. A family and a small group can take up integrating activities at the micro-social level and , at the same time - disintegrating activities at the macro-social level. In families and in small groups where direct contacts dominate "immoral familiarity" is of affiliating character. It strengthens coherence of such organizations through high involvement of employees, a sense of strong identification with the group, opposition to the environment. There emerges identity of an organization as a " besieged bastion". In large organizations the employees do not have a sense of strong links and are ready to derive individual or group advantages by exploiting these organizations. (original abstract)
