Abstrakty

Celem artykułu jest weryfikacja hipotezy, że wysoki stopień zróżnicowania struktury przedmiotowej handlu jest czynnikiem łagodzącym skutki zagranicznych szoków gospodarczych w krajach o wysokim poziomie otwartości handlowej. Badanie ograniczono do eksportu towarów. Zakres czasowy stanowią lata 1995-2011, a w szczególności lata kryzysów gospodarczych - 1998, 2001 i 2009. Analizą statystyczną objęto 176 państw, a niezbędne dane pochodzą z bazy opracowanej przez UNCTAD. (fragment tekstu)

This paper addresses the mechanisms by which trade openness and export concentration affect economic growth in the years 1995-2011. The effect of openness on growth volatility varies according to the extent of export concentration. Export diversification plays an important role in shielding an economy against the impact of economic shocks. (original abstract)
