In the following paper the author concentrates on theoretical aspects of the term new economy, its origins and similar terms widely used by economists to describe the contemporary world economy. Therefore, the author presents methods of measuring the new economy's development on the macroeconomic level, theoretically and empirically using the most popular indices referring to countries development towards the new economy. Moreover, in the article there have been presented country ranks from two different time periods: 2008 and 2011. esults are presented at the end of the paper. (original abstract)

W artykule autor przedstawił genezę i zakres pojęciowy terminu nowa gospodarka oraz dokonał próby przedstawienia metod jej pomiaru przy użyciu wskaźników. Podjęta w artykule analiza porównawcza dotyczy zarówno płaszczyzny teoretycznej, jak i empirycznej. Przedstawiono konstrukcję czterech głównych wskaźników: Knowledge Economy Index, ICT Development Index, Network Readiness Index oraz Global Innovation Index oraz zależności między nimi. Następnie dokonano zestawienia państw dla dwóch okresów: 2008 oraz 2011 i wyciągnięto wnioski wynikające z różnych metod pomiaru. (abstrakt oryginalny)
