W niniejszym artykule zaprezentowana została analiza potencjalnych strategicznych działań podmiotów podejmujących przedsięwzięcia innowacyjne w branży farmaceutycznej. W tym celu posłużono się m.in. modelem projektów B+R chronionych patentem w warunkach funkcjonowania niedoskonałej konkurencji w fazie badań i testów oraz wprowadzania nowopowstałego produktu na rynek. The aim of the article is to conduct an analysis of strategic interactions between entities undertaking investment projects in pharmaceutical industry. Using the patent-protected R&D model, strategic behaviour is shown when there is imperfect competition in the development and marketing of the drug. Interactions that occur significantly complicate the solution of the problem because the investor has to take into account not only the factors that influence their own decisions, but also the factors that affect the decisions of other investors. Behaviour of the entities in the pharmaceutical industry significantly increases the investment uncertainty which may result in abandonment of the project. That is why implementation of the model presented in the article may help to decrease the risk involved in the drug development process. (original abstract)
