One of the key aspects to be analysed in the marketing literature, which appeared since the late 90s are the ones dedicated to creating lasting relationships with customers. Initially, theoretical reflection and empirical research concerned the merits of creating these relationships, the benefits that they bring to companies as well as the factors determining the development of these relations. Lately, the national literature began to focus on the profitability of relationships and their impact on the financial performance of companies. Currently, therefore, these issues are being perceived from a broader point of view, i.e. from the effectiveness analysis the focus is stressed on the analysis of efficiency and effectiveness in building relationships with customers. In the studies a lot of attention is devoted to the so-called "key customers", that is those who bring companies the most benefits from the established relationship. On the other hand, almost completely overlooked issue is still discussion about the customers who have little value for the enterprise. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to draw attention to the problem of relationship management of low value customers and to identify the strategies that companies can take to improve that value in the long term.
