Celem opracowania jest identyfikacja sposobów wdrażania innowacji przez firmy przemysłowe Polski, Czech i Węgier. Mając świadomość, iż innowacje wpływają na konkurencyjność firm, zakładamy, że sposoby wdrażania innowacji odzwierciedlają różnice w przewagach konkurencyjnych i strategii wygrywania konkurencji. Sposoby wdrażania innowacji odzwierciedlają czynniki innowacji, jakie przedsiębiorstwa posiadają i z jakich korzystają.

The paper shows differentiation of modes of introduction of innovation among manufacturing firms from the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. It is based on survey which considers internal and external sources of innovation and competitiveness. As survey covers 358 firms operating in four branches of manufacturing: food and beverages, pharmaceuticals, electronics and automotive we use firm level data to classify firms according to the modes of introducing innovation. Basing on sources of innovation and using cluster analysis three main types of firms' introducing innovation were selected and characterised based on internal sources, on external sources of innovation and both internal and external ones. However these groups were not homogenous. Within each of them we found sub-modes that use different innovation sources in terms of kind and quality. The paper also show that differences in competitiveness among firms impact on differences in type of sources of innovation they use and modes of innovation they introduce.(original abstract)
