Abstrakty

We współczesnej międzynarodowej literaturze coraz wyraźniej daje się zauważyć wykorzystywanie metafor jako narzędzi badania organizacji. Na rodzimym gruncie istnieje wyraźny brak badań wykorzystujących metodę metafory. Artykuł stara się wypełnić zaistniałą lukę przez przedstawienie krytyczno-opisowej analizy charakterystycznych współczesnych prac dotyczących metafory jako narzędzia badania organizacji. W pierwszej części przedstawiono rolę metafory w perspektywie modernistycznej i symboliczno - interpretatywnej (realizmu sensomotorycznego). Następnie przedstawiono typologię metafor, a finalnie omówiono dwa przykłady badań organizacji opartych na metaforach: systematyczną analizę metafor i interpretatywne studium przypadku. Artykuł kończą refleksje dotyczące możliwości dalszego wykorzystywania metafor w badaniach organizacji.(abstrakt oryginalny)

There is a continuous interest in the study of metaphor within organizational research. In Poland, there has been a relatively modest attention paid so far to the metaphors as tools for organization studies. This paper sets out to address this lacuna by critically reviewing the dominant works on the use of metaphors in organizational research. Firstly, it focuses on the role of metaphors in modern and symbolic - interpretive (embodied realism) perspectives. Secondly, it overviews the typology of metaphors, and finally - their usefulness has been examined with two research methods based on metaphors: systemic metaphor analysis and interpretive case studies. Finally, some conclusions on metaphor applications in organization research have been drawn upon.(original abstract)
