Abstrakty

Na początku artykułu omówiono przygotowania do akcji wysiedleńczej na Zamojszczyźnie oraz bezpośrednią eksterminację polskiej ludności w tym regionie. Następnie opisano obozy przesiedleńcze funkcjonujące w Zamościu i Zwierzyńcu. Na koniec uwagę poświęcono germanizacji dzieci na ziemiach polskich oraz krótko opisano Rotundę zamojską - niewielkie więzienie w Zamościu.

The Zamojszczyzna District was one of departure points of the German plan to colonize General-Gouvernement (GG). The decision taken by Nazi authorities about carrying the total germanization of GG was a step preceding the plan of creating the first German area of settlement in the Zamojszczyzna District. Displacements of the population carried out in the Zamość Region were a consecutive stage after the germanization activities taken in years 1939-1942 in regions annexed to the Third Reich. In the pre-war period the Zamojszczyzna District counted altogether 517,500 inhabitants, in it Poles constituted 2/3, Ukrainians 1/4, however, Jews made the remaining part. Nazis managed to displace about 100 thousands of Poles and several dozen thousands of colonists of the German and Ukrainian origin were settled in their places. Right before beginning displacements in the Zamojszczyzna District, Germans carried out the action of destroying Jews under the name "Endlösung der Judenfrage". This action served as the model in the planned extermination of the Zamość society. While removing the Zamojszczyzna population Nazis also exploited the experience acquired from the displacement actions on the territories annexed to the Third Reich. A similar system of organization was adopted by creating displacement and transition camps and applying the principle of the confiscation of property. As in the case of Jews the Polish population was being collated. Nazis were exterminating groups considered racially non-valuable in concentration camps in Majdanek and in Oświęcim. Altogether, several thousands of displaced persons from the Zamość Region were deported to camps - about 16 thousands were taken away to Majdanek, whereas about 2 thousands to Oświęcim. Tens of thousands of healthy persons, in their prime, were sent to work in the Third Reich. About 4,500 Polish children were exported to Germany to be germanized. The old, the ill, the disabled and children became victims of bestial crimes of the invader, who in the course of displacing individual towns were killed with malice aforethought. In some pacification -displacement actions almost entire villages were murdered and burnt. Many persons also died during transports carried out in inhuman conditions. (original abstract)
