Abstrakty
To extract maximum net present value (NPV) from a supply chain, it is imperative to closely examine the existing processes and recognise the virtual chains operating within. In general, it is easier to understand virtual supply chain when following activities of customers, retailers and wholesalers, although in a multistage global supply chain such a case could appear at each stage of activities. In the analysis of virtual supply chains, we consider the material flow and information flow in such systems. While in a traditional supply chain the product is dispatched from the wholesaler and passes through the retailer on its way to the customer, the information about the demand for the items flow goes in the opposite direction - from the customers to the retailer and than to the wholesaler.(fragment tekstu)
