W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono 100 największych korporacji światowych. Przeprowadzono klasyfikację stosując mierniki pozwalające bardziej szczegółowo ocenić sytuację w światowej czołówce korporacji.
A hundred of the biggest world corporations have been presented and discussed. The classification is based on the so-called market value, that is the value of share capital according to the actual issue and the exchange price of stock. The acceptance of a market factor as a basis for classification is a new approach and may give rise to some controversions among economicts who are accustomed to real values such as a number of the employed or volume of output. The acceptance of this measure as a basis for classification affords possibilities for a qualitative analysis because it shows how "healthy" a firm is or how much it is worth on the market. The presented specification draws our attention to the predominance of such branches as electronics, telecommunication, production and distribution of energy and fuel, as well as to the growth of banks, financial establishments and insurance institutions. The specification conforms once again the thesis that nowodays, in highly developed countries, the dominant sectors are services, their transmission as well as the production and distribution of energy.
