Przedstawiono przedmiot i metody badań. Omówiono zróżnicowanie struktur według wieku ludności. Na koniec przedstawiono analizę zróżnicowania umieralności niemowląt dla każdej jednostki terytorialnej.

In the article the study of age-structure of population and infant mortality was undertaken. Three types of demographic structures were determined: large towns (over 100 thousand inhabitants), small towns (below 100 thousand inhabitants), villages. Owing to the applied quantitative methods the differences in structure between a large town and village were pointed out. The towns that have an untypical structure were specified. With respect to the infant mortality the opinion was formulated that large towns differentiate the analysed process in many ways. The patterns of mortality in the first year of life were defined. Directions for further investigations were shown. (original abstract)
