Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
Celem artykułu jest zbudowanie i oszacowanie modeli popytu konsumpcyjnego dla branży piwowarskiej i branży spirytusowej. W rozdziale pierwszym ustalono zbiór potencjalnych zmiennych objaśniających i zdefiniowano zmienne objaśniane. Rozdział drugi i trzeci w całości poświęcono estymacji parametrów modeli odpowiednio: branży spirytusowej i branży piwowarskiej. W rozdziale czwartym porównano i zinterpretowano otrzymane oszacowania parametrów modeli popytu konsumpcyjnego. (fragment tekstu)
In the article demand models for products in the brewing and spirit industries were built and estimated. The models were based on power-exponentisl funtions, which were characterized by constant elasticities in relation to profits and prices and constant growth rates in relation to binary data and temperature. Estimation was conducted for quarterly data from the years 2001-2008. The estimated models explain the volatility of consumer demand with high determination coefficients. All the estimating parameters match with intuition and economic theory. According to the conducted calculations, the volume of the registered sale of alcohol depends to a large extent on the price of alcohol and consumer wages. In the analyzed period income elasticity of the demand for vodka and beer amounts to: 1.73 for vodka and 0.71 for beer. However, price elasticities are equal: for beer -0.78 in the years 2001-2004 and -2.22 in the years 2005-2008; and for vodka -1.39 during the entire analyzed period. Estimation of the cross elasticity of demand for vodka in relation to the price of beer amounting to 1.66, confirms the strong substitution relation of the products. (original abstract)
