Abstrakty
(fragment tekstu)
In the paper we investigate the relations between daily trading volume and the dynamics of daily quotations for chosen stocks and indices from the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The analysis is provided by means of GARCH models, with an additional variable - natural logarithm of volume. We found some positive correlation between volatility of price and natural logarithm of volume. No dependence between volume and the level of stock returns has been found. Therefore, the dependencies between price dynamics and the investors response to the arrival of new information at the Warsaw Stock Exchange are similar to those at mature capital markets.
