Ocena dorobku naukowego prof. Zdzisława Sadowskiego w zeszycie Ekonomisty, dedykowanym Jubilatowi.
In all his theoretical and practical activities, Zdzisław Sadowski has been following the recommendations of the 2nd Polish Congress of Economists of June 1956, i.e. he was striving for transformation of the national economy into a market economy and for its rationalization. This has been the case both in the period of the so-called real socialism, when he became the co-author of the reform of the eighties, as well as at the present stage of the systemic transformation. In his opinion, the Polish economy should align itself to the mainstream of transformations of the European civilization. However, he expressed a number of reservations to the program of L. Balcerowicz. Underlying the position of Zdzisław Sadowski are his views of the evolutionary nature of transformations, a fast economic growth even at the expense of the budgetary equilibrium, an export-orientation of the economy with its asymmetric opening, and the need of investing ever increasing resources in development of science and technology. These have been the roots of his steady emphasis on the importance of industrial policy and the role of the state in economy. In general, he has been speaking in favour of a synergic co-operation of the market and the policy of the state serving the strategy of development. (original abstract)
