Abstrakty
Projekt badawczy dotyka współcześnie kluczowych wyzwań, przed którymi stoją biznes i gospodarka oraz miasta i aglomeracje. Jest to z jednej strony wysublimowany proces przechodzenia od "starej" gospodarki, basującej na kolejnych fazach przetwórstwa surowców przy użyciu coraz bardziej zaawansowanych technologii, do "nowej" gospodarki opartej na wiedzy, kulturze, przemysłach kreatywnych i własności intelektualnej. Proces ten przyjęto w projekcie nazywać restrukturyzacją. Z drugiej strony jest to skomplikowany proces, w trakcie którego jedne ośrodki i obszary, o dużym potencjale kreatywnym i sile przyciągania, przeżywają rozkwit i wzmacniają swoją pozycję konkurencyjną w globalizujacym się świecie, podczas gdy inne o wrażliwych, nisko konkurencyjnych rodzajach aktywności doznają wielorakich napięć strukturalnych. W projekcie postawiona została teza, iż centralną ideą i myślą przewodnią organizującą proces restrukturyzacji aglomeracji miejskich są kreatywne i atrakcyjne miasta. (fragment tekstu)
