Semantic Analysis of Production Function
Języki publikacji
Abstrakty
Departing from general methodology of empirical sciences the author analyses the semantic side of production function specification. The relation of representation occurring between the term and its designate constitutes the main requirement of this analysis. Comparisons of production functions and models of physical process in the light of semantical analysis lead to the conclusion that actual practice in production function specification in fact boils down to the descriptive parametrisation of empirical data. The identification of spurious designates in the process of specification allows for precise differentation between the terms belonging to the language of economic modelling and the terms of economic theory language. That, in turn, leads to a better orientation in the directions in which specification of production function develops. (original abstract)
