Depression also has a significant personal cost. Some estimates of suicide attempts for those with severest recurrent mood disorders range as high as 15%. Finally, depression is a recurrent disorder, with up to 75% of depressed patients the up-gradeded Signa MRI 1,5 T scanner operational at the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, UK. We are also interested in cognitive functioning in patients with depressive disorders with special emphasis on patients who are experiencing their first episode of illness. We will use Vienna Test System that consists of a powerful basic software and of the individual tests. The test system offers a multitude of tests. In addition to the classic tests we offer multimedia tests and tests developed according to the Modern Test Theory (Item-response theory). The advisory system gives a possibility to save effects of consultations of every patient and methods of a therapy prescribed by a doctor6. After each consultation with the system it is possible to measure relative intensity of depression using a set of characteristic symptoms of depressive episode (according to RDC for ICD-10).(fragment tekstu)
