Abstrakty

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest analiza napływu zagranicznych inwestycji bezpośrednich do Korei Południowej po 1998 r. Wskazane zostaną przyczyny wciąż relatywnie niskiego poziomu ZIB oraz inicjatywy mające zmienić tę sytuacje. Okres badawczy obejmuje lata 1998-2012. Do realizacji celu pracy wykorzystano metody analityczno-opisowe, polegające na analizie zgromadzonego materiału statystycznego oraz wnioskowaniu opisowemu na ich podstawie. Ze względu na duże zróżnicowanie wartości danych liczbowych pomiędzy dostępnymi źródłami, do analizy użyto przede wszystkim informacji organizacji UNCTAD oraz w mniejszym stopniu WTO. The author of the article focused on a FDI development in South Korea in the years 1998-2012. Analysis of statistical data shows that the value of investments has increased significantly, especially in the first years of the period under scrutiny. Then, in parallel with the general downturn of the global economy, investments in Korea decreased, and in the following years their value fluctuated at a relatively high level. Despite the increase in the FDI inflows, their importance for the Korean economy still remains small. This is in conflict with the intentions of governments that since 1998 have been pursuing an active policy of encouraging investors to involve in South Korea. (original abstract)
