Abstrakty
Kryzys finansowy, którego druga odsłona rozpoczęła się wraz z upadkiem Lehman Brothers, spowodował z końcem 2008 r. narastanie procesów recesyjnych w większości krajów Unii Europejskiej. Spadek tempa wzrostu PKB, załamanie handlu światowego, perturbacje giełdowe, walutowe etc. spowodowały najpierw działania władz monetarnych (banków centralnych), a następnie wywołały reakcje władz fiskalnych. Zapowiedzi różnych działań zarówno popytowych, jak i podażowych prezentowane były przez rządy w pakietach anty kryzysowych. (fragment tekstu)
In the paper, we analyse the strength and direction of the fiscal decisions declared and subsequently announced within their rescue plans by the governments of all European Union countries. Fiscal policy is looked upon in order to find the relations which existed between the decisions taken and the budgetary space - elasticity and potential output gap in each country. The conclusion is that not only were the monetary decisions focused on the rescue of the financial systems but also fiscal packages were mostly determined by the budgetary space pushing into the background the real economy struggle like e.g. unemployment.
