ERP Systems Localization - Related Issues. Microsoft Dynamics GP Post - Mortem Analysis

Abstrakty

Twelve years of experience related to ERP system glocalization allow the following considerations: 1. The producer of ERP system can not force local functionality to be global. So, he should establish very flexible architecture of the system. Then others developers can customize this core ERP system. 2. Except of adequate system architecture, delivering packet of programming tools, that in easy way can integrate and modify the core of ERP system, is a very important factor. In this way we can build the specific community of international developers. 3. Development process of ERP system needs "Glocalization awareness" from each R&D team member (analyst, programmer, tester). This means: think global when you create procedures, functions, manuals etc. All above considerations are a guide for each software developer, who wants to distribute own systems worldwide.
