Abstrakty
(fragment tekstu)
The objective of the article is to verify the thesis that the global financial crisis, being a long-term economic shock, contributed to a permanent decrease of the business cycle synchronisation between the CE-4 countries (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania) and the Eurozone, thus increasing the costs of abandoning the monetary autonomy in the CE-4 countries. The conducted analysis does not give ground for the notion that the economic slowdown in the Eurozone led to a decrease of cyclical convergence between the Eurozone and the CE-4 countries. The on-going geographical reorientation of the international trade in each of these countries with the other three countries of the region and with Russia and Ukraine indicates, however, a possibility of forming of a regional business cycle and a permanent decrease of the cyclical convergence of the CE-4 economies with the Eurozone.
