Using decision support systems(DSS) tools have resulted in many applications in various business areas and increasingly made business dependent on high-quality information for decision making. Managers rely on DSS to assist in storing, extracting, and, evaluating mammoth amounts of data. Therefore, the aim of this study is to examine the effect of the adoption of data warehouse (DW) by Polish firms on strategic decision making through theoretical models of decision making, in this study a hybrid model of business needs and decision-making process is adapted and tailored based on Simon's model of the decision-making process'. A mail questionnaire survey was considered an appropriate method for this study. The sample was selected from firms listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange (WSE) 150. 40 questionnaires were returned, generating a 37.5% response rate. The quantitative data are being processed using a statistical package for the social sciences (SPSS) program. The results and findings, will be treated in the authors next separate supplementary paper.(fragment of text)
