Celem artykułu jest przestawienie, jaki wpływ miał globalny kryzys finansowy na finansowanie szkół wyższych ze źródeł publicznych oraz jak zmiany te wpływają na funkcjonowanie uczelni na poziomie instytucjonalnym, prowadzenie przez państwo polityki edukacyjnej, a także na studentów. The aim of the article is to present the impact of the global financial crisis on public funding of higher education. It also explores different types of institutional responses, changes in educational policy in selected EU countries and influence on students choices. (original abstract)
