Abstrakty

Recent years have shown that there is a strong need to develop a system that will adapt to the user and one that possesses capabilities far beyond those of current information systems. DARPA's cognitive systems constitute the answer. Comprising of numerous cognitive agents, they will be able to reason using substantial amount of knowledge; learn from its experience; and respond robustly to surprise. Furthermore, cognitive agents are probably the best solution for integration in Multi-Agent environment. (original abstract)

Ostatnie lata ujawniły potrzebę tworzenia systemów, które będą dostosowywały się do użytkownika, a jednocześnie swoimi możliwościami znacznie przewyższą obecnie istniejące systemy informacyjne. Systemy typu "cognitive" zaproponowane przez agencję DARPA stanowią odpowiedź na te potrzeby. Systemy te, składające się z. wielu pojedynczych agentów, będą w stanie wnioskować przy użyciu posiadanej ogromnej ilości wiedzy; uczyć się na własnych doświadczeniach oraz szybko reagować na sytuacje niespodziewane. Ponadto, agenci " cognitive" (I cale systemy "cognitive" stanowią receptę na rozwiązanie problemów związanych z integracją w środowisku wieloagentowym. (abstrakt oryginalny)
