Abstrakty
The aim of the study is to show how enterprises perform the self-classification to the sector of family businesses. The considerations are based on the self-classification related to the Substantial Family Influence ratio (SFI). Subsequently, there were presented the results that show the importance of the components constructing the SFI ratio. The results reveal the gradation of SFI's components. The most important ingredient is the equity stake of the family in the company, the second, of minor importance is the influence on the executive processes or the Board of the firm, and the third one is the influence on the Supervisory Board.
