Przedmiotem artykułu jest refleksja nad sytuacją teoretyczno-metodologiczną współczesnej geografii przemysłu oraz nad możliwościami aplikacji niektórych koncepcji do analizy procesu transformacji przemysłu w Polsce. Artykuł opiera się na tezach rozprawy habilitacyjnej autora pt. "Adaptacja przestrzenna przemysłu w Polsce w warunkach transformacji".(abstrakt oryginalny)
