Abstrakty

Głównym celem artykułu była ocena społecznych i środowiskowych skutków likwidacji kopalń węgla kamiennego oraz określenie roli CSR w procesie likwidacji przedsiębiorstw wydobywczych. By tak postawiony cel zrealizować, w pierwszej części artykułu zidentyfikowano i oceniono środowiskowe i społeczne skutki likwidacji kopalń na przykładzie polskiego górnictwa węgla kamiennego. Następnie prowadzoną analizę rozszerzono o międzynarodowe studia przypadków z zakresu funkcjonowania i likwidacji przedsiębiorstw wydobywczych. W zakończeniu zaprezentowano wykorzystanie koncepcji CSR w zarządzaniu ryzykiem środowiskowym i społecznym w fazie likwidacji przedsiębiorstwa wydobywczego, posługując się przykładami z praktyki gospodarczej oraz formułując wytyczne pod adresem doskonalenia tej koncepcji w przemyśle wydobywczym.(abstrakt oryginalny)

The paper primarily aims to assess the environmental and social impacts of coal mine closures, and to determine the role of corporate social responsibility in the liquidation process. To accomplish this, the first part of the paper identifies and assesses the environmental and social impacts of coal mine closures as exemplified by Poland's hard coal industry. Next, the analysis is extended to include international case studies involving the operations and the termination of operations of mining companies. To reach the conclusion, the application of the corporate social responsibility concept in environmental and social risk management during industrial shutdowns is described, employing practical examples of mining companies being shut down. This leads to outlining recommendations for the concept's further refinement for use in the mining industry.(original abstract)
