Augmented reality as a new marketing communication tool of durable goods manufacturers

Abstrakty
More and more manufacturers of durable goods (especially the innovative ones) use augmented reality (AR) in the marketing communications process. AR creates the possibility of modifying the existing world/environment to an unprecedented extent, through the integration of real and virtual elements and interaction with consumers. Therefore, producers may present their products in a unique and personalized way (even before their introduction to the market), support unconventional sales promotion, or assist consumers in their shopping. AR helps to increase the customer value proposition and to build a strong relationship between the client and the brand/product. As yet, manufacturers use AR to complete or enhance their classic marketing communication tools. However, its potential suggests a much wider applicability. (original abstract)
