Prezentowane opracowanie odnosi się do dwu kwestii: sposobu rozumienia i analizy kongestii i możliwosci oraz celowości wprowadzenia tego pojęcia do zarządzania łańcuchami dostaw. O ile w pierwszej sprawie nie ma wątpliwości, o tyle druga kwestia nie jest przesadzona. Podjęta próba interpretacji strategii łańcucha dostaw z użyciem terminu "kongestia" co najwyżej zachęca do dokładniejszego zbadania tej sprawy.(fragment tekstu)

The term "congestion" is suggested to be not confusing with a synonym of "crowdness". The essence of congestion expresses in the mutual interaction of logistics system users. It is very important to identify such a situation, where the rise of congestion is tied with the increase of fl ow, and situation where ris- ing congestion is connected with the decrease of the fl ow. Costs of congestion behave in accordance with the law of decreasing income. Copying the conges- tion lays in minimizing the force of mutual interactions of users, enlarging the capacity of logistics systems, and centralizing the systems. It seems to be worthy to make a research on utility of the congestion term in the fi eld of supply chain management.(original abstract)
