Celem referatu jest prezentacja miejsca i roli rozwoju dostawców w zarządzaniu łańcuchami dostaw w globalnej przestrzeni rynkowej oraz wybranych najlepszych praktyk w tym zakresie. Przedstawiono kluczowe aspekty tej formy współpracy i wykazano jej wpływ na międzynarodową konkurencyjność "rozszerzonych przedsiębiorstw". (fragment tekstu)

The article analyses the contemporary role of supplier development (SD) in international supply chains management. Its outline is as follows. Firstly, the author highlights definitions of supplier development. Thereafter follows a discussion focused on strategies, programs as well as short and long term effects of supplier development. Finally, case study of IKEA is presented to understand its best practices, that can be seen as a benchmark. (original abstract)
